Overview

Analyze key data and provide actionable insights to National / Sections to drive strategies and decision making to further the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with National and Section staff to understand and prioritize business objectives to be supported with data and analytics; recommend appropriate data and insights solutions to support them
  • Through insightful data analysis, visualizations and reports, deliver key actionable insights to assist USTA National and Sections in developing strategies to grow tennis participation
  • Perform business analysis, propose recommendations, and gain agreement of stakeholders on metrics and KPIs to be tracked
  • Develop Section level scorecards to illustrate status and progress toward KPIs
  • Facilitate implementation of data solutions into USTA National and Section operational processes
  • Develop and publish reporting & dashboards to be used by all 17 USTA Sections – ensure data is actionable, accurate and refreshed automatically at required frequency (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly)
  • Collaborate with colleagues on Data & Analytics teams to define development requirements for integration of data sources needed to support reporting and analytics
  • Create and groom user stories for data and data lake development required to support reporting and analysis
  • Facilitate end user training and increase awareness, adoption, and usage of published dashboards and reports
  • Support development and distribution of industry and USTA monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Support player & provider research projects with external providers
  • Support Section’s annual business planning process by providing pertinent data & insights to support strategies, initiatives, investments, etc.
  • Partner with other USTA departments to streamline Section level data & reporting – e.g. CT, Marketing, Research
  • Assist in developing presentations illustrating key data & insights supporting business objectives

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years experience in a business intelligence or analytics role
  • Strong passion for consumer insights
  • Strategic thinker who can identify data and analytics needs to support business objectives - ability to summarize key findings into strategic recommendations
  • Ability to analyze complex sets of data and identify key insights
  • Proficiency using BI Visualization tools to develop interactive and dynamic dashboards to deliver insights “at a glance” and effectively track KPIs (Tableau preferred)
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and understanding of relational database and data modeling concepts as they relate to analytics and business intelligence architecture
  • Experience with Agile development methodology in analytics and business intelligence applications
  • Ability to create presentations and reports to present recommendations / insights
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a large stakeholder/user group
  • Customer first and service oriented mindset
