Overview

This unique, two-year, position focused on Leadership Empowerment and Accelerated Development (L.E.A.D.) will enable the employee to shadow and work directly with the organization’s Chief Revenue Officer and other key business leaders while providing for experiential training in all aspects of the organization’s commercial activities including Broadcast, Sponsorship, Ticket Sales, Digital Strategy, Licensing, Merchandise, and Corporate Hospitality.  In addition, this position will gain unprecedented exposure to all of the USTA’s Departments and benefit from formal mentoring relationships both within and outside the organization prior to moving into a specific career path.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow the CRO on all commercial activities related to the US Open, US Open Series, USTA National Campus and other USTA properties.
  • Work alongside the Partnership Marketing group to assist in the coordination of benefits and overall activation of the USTA’s corporate partner relationships with specially assigned sponsors including planning and execution of contractual site deliverables and related department projects.
  • Provide support for our sponsorship agency, CAA Sports, sales effort with research, proposal writing, and presentation development.
  • Support the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics on US Open strategic initiatives. 
  • Provide project support to the Broadcast Operations team in the lead up to each US Open.
  • Assist the Broadcast Partnerships team with research and overall rights holder support.
  • Provide project and analytical support for our US Open Ticket sales efforts.
  • Assist the Digital Strategy group with research and select project support.  
  • Learn and assist with the development, sales and administration of US Open Hospitality programs including Suites, Premium Experience and Group sales/service.
  • Responsible for CRO administrative support including coordination of demanding meeting schedule, maintenance of daily calendar, booking travel, expense reporting, phone calls and messages, review and screening of all correspondences, contact list maintenance, office supply coordination and file management.
  • Support the CRO and Department with note taking and other projects as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business or Sports Management from a nationally recognized program or institution.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and handle various tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills and proficiency in MS Office/Google Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
  • Relevant internships in entertainment, sports, marketing or communications background is preferred.
  • Connection to Tennis or demonstrated interest in the sport a plus
