Overview

The USTA is seeking an experienced sports rights executive to join the US Open’s business operations team. Supporting the Managing Director, Broadcast and the Chief Commercial Officer, and working closely with the USTA and external legal teams, this role drives value and growth for the US Open’s global media rights. This role will work closely with partners throughout the lifecycle of the partnerships, from initial relationship development, prospecting and key term negotiations to service to renewal.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide first class relationship management to US Open media rights partners both domestically and around the world
  • Work with MD Broadcast and external agency to drive contract negotiations of US Open rights agreements
  • Work closely with media partners to understand and support their plans for activation and maximization of licensed rights across their media platforms
  • Assist in the integration of the US Open’s business objectives, marketing platforms and campaigns into partners’ broadcast plans
  • Collaborate with sponsorship team to enable advertising opportunities in broadcast partners’ media distribution of the US Open
  • Collaborate with marketing, PR and social media teams to support awareness and viewership across the globe for media partners
  • Prepare robust post-event reports for partners
  • Coordinate the execution of media partner hospitality requirements and executive hosting
  • Act as internal and external champion to support commercial rights discussions
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time by Chief Commercial Officer
  • The position requires periodic travel in pursuit of US Open media rights business development, which may include conferences (both domestically and internationally), other Grand Slams and other major live events, 
  •  On-site attendance throughout entire U.S. Open.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; legal degree preferred
  • Experience in sports broadcast deal making
  • Experience within the sports industry from either a broadcaster, rights owner or agency
  • Experience in contract negotiations, review, and revisionsDeep knowledge of broadcast deal landscape and current events required
  • Experience interacting with senior level executives
  • Demonstrated capability to develop trusted relationships and achieve alignment
  • Ambitious, curious nature and a positive attitude
  • Candidate must be creative and adept at time management
  • This position is designated as "hybrid/flex" and may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy."

 

 

Pay range in the United States
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Base salary- $95,000-$115,000/yr.; bonus eligible
