The Role

The Information Security Director plays a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's valuable information assets and digital infrastructure. You will lead the USTA security working group in developing and implementing a comprehensive information security program, proactively mitigating risks, and responding effectively to security incidents. You will be a trusted advisor to senior management on security matters and a passionate advocate for building a strong security culture within the organization.

 

 

  • Strategy and Governance:
  • Develop and implement the organization's year-round and US Open information security strategies and roadmaps, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. Manage and update security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats and prioritize mitigation efforts.
  • Operations and Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the information security team, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Manage the budget for the information security function, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Implement and maintain security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption solutions.
  • Manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) and incident response processes, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of security incidents.

Education and Awareness:

 

  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of information security within the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that security controls are integrated into business processes.
  • Communicate the importance of cybersecurity to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends and adapt the information security program accordingly.
  • Manage vendor relationships for security solutions and services.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences.

Travel:

During the US Open, the candidate will be expected to travel to New York for long stay support during the tournament. During that period, the candidate will work in real time supporting the organization in a leadership role to guard the US Open against cyber threats

Who Are You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing information security strategies and programs.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position located at the Natinal Campus in Orlando and its hbyrid, combination of remote and onsite.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $150,000 - 170,000. This role is bonus eligible.  This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
