The Role

The Manager, Adult Tournaments will manage all aspects of Adult Tournaments and Senior International Competition.

  • Contribute to the implementation of the Community Tennis strategic plan
  • Execute Adult Tournament and Senior International Competition strategies and programs
  • Serve as Staff Liaison to the Adult Competition Committee and Senior International Selection Committee
  • Work closely with the Adult Competition Committee and Senior International Selection Committee to ensure all goals and objectives that pertain to the Community Tennis strategic plan are executed
  • Support USTA Sectional Associations on Adult Competition strategies and growth
  • Actively engage with internal USTA Departments including, but not limited to, Digital, Marketing, Communications, and Collegiate
  • Manage and track reports related to Adult Tournament and Senior International Team programs and initiatives
  • Attend and participate in internal department and USTA meetings
  • Manage the Sanctioning and Scheduling process for all adult national tournaments including acquisition of all national tournament agreements and approvals in conjunction with the Legal Department.
  • Manage NTRP National Championships including, but not limited to, site selection, player selection process, and ensuring all regulations are correctly adhered to
  • Collaborate with the World Tennis Number (WTN) team on promoting Adult WTN Tournaments
  • Understand the basic tournament requirements in Serve Tennis in order to effectively support National Tournament Directors
  • Ensure quality control of National Tournaments with regular communication to National Tournament Directors
  • Assist in monitoring the budget for Adult Tournaments on a monthly basis.
  • Foster positive relationships with various related organizations, including, but not limited to ITF, USPTA, PTR, NWTO, and NSMTA.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the tennis or sports industry
  • Minimum 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite & G-Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms), Adobe Photoshop, and virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom & Google Meet.
  • Proven track record of success working in team environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the ability to learn & manipulate new programs and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability in coordination, organization, and data management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to travel to attend meetings, conferences and international events

Adherence to current USTA hybrid/flex requirements is essential, with periodic updates from HR informing the most current policy.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $60,000 - $65,000.   This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
