We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role
The USTA’s Safe Play program promotes a positive, safe environment where tennis players of all ages thrive. The USTA combines comprehensive training, background screening, and clear policies to implement standards for athlete safety. The Coordinator, Safe Play provides assistance to Senior Director, Athlete Safety and Tennis Integrity and Manager, Safe Play Outreach and Education with USTA Safe Play program administration, which includes:
- Tracking program compliance including background checks and completion of SafeSport training modules.
- Serve as main point of contact internally and externally for Safe Play program technical assistance, including questions related to Safe Play compliance, and IT-related questions related to the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s learning management system, and the National Center for Safety Initiatives platform.
- Work with various departments including HR, Player Development, Community Tennis, Pro Tennis Operations, and Officiating to ensure compliance with Safe Play training requirements.
- Compiling and organizing information related to internal and external audits and inquiries throughout the year
- Conduct research, including legal and general topics, and prepare summary of findings.
- Continually monitor relevant subject matters, identify issues and trends.
- Provide additional administrative duties as assigned including filing, drafting correspondence, facilitating mailings, and developing presentations.
- Assist with intake of and response to matters that fall outside of the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s exclusive jurisdiction
- Additional administrative duties as assigned.
Who You Are
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive information and correspondence.
- Must be objective, compassionate, and a good listener.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of the legal system and processes strongly preferred.
- Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize the workload.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to draft correspondence, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Customer service oriented or experience in customer service role.
- Ability to conduct research, including legal and general topics and prepare summary of findings.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Business Suite (Gmail, Google Hangouts, and Google Sheets).
- Ability to quickly learn and become familiar with various online platforms and applications (i.e., to track background screen completion, online training completions).
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $49,000-59,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
