We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role
This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the National Tennis Center - Queens, NY.
Hourly rate: $20.00
The IT Support Intern will play a key role in assisting USTA staff, seasonal staff, consultants, and temporary staff at the National Tennis Center, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by troubleshooting and resolving complex computer software, hardware, and peripheral issues. This position also involves preparing IT equipment (laptops, desktops, printers) for use during the US Open and providing technical support to ensure seamless event execution.
- Provide daily technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware and software to USTA staff and clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer software, system, and hardware issues escalated from the Help Desk, conducting onsite user consultations and technical analysis to identify and implement solutions.
- Prepare IT equipment for use during the US Open, ensuring all devices are configured and ready for event use.
- Support software applications and productivity tools, helping end users maximize the effectiveness of their systems.
- Collaborate with staff to identify potential system improvements and resolve technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing the inventory of IT equipment, ensuring timely availability of devices for events and daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring clients receive clear and concise technical guidance.
Who You Are
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, hardware, operating systems (including Windows 10 and Mac OS), and software.
- Familiarity with networking principles and basic troubleshooting techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (G-Suite), Chrome OS, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to quickly evaluate and resolve technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work in a high-profile, fast-paced environment, especially during large events like the US Open.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience with IT support, particularly in an event or high-demand setting.
- Familiarity with IT equipment preparation, system configurations, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Experience with end-user training or user support.
