The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the National Tennis Center - Queens NY. 

Hourly rate: $20.00

This internship is designed for undergraduate students with a focus on law enforcement, sports security, or a related field, who are eager to contribute to the planning and execution of security and safety protocols at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Tennis Center.

  • Assist the Security and Safety team with the development and implementation of security deployment plans for the US Open.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and execution of the medical plan, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants and attendees.
  • Help coordinate safety and security efforts for various aspects of the event, including crowd control, emergency response, and access control.
  • Support the team with logistical planning for security personnel, equipment, and other resources necessary for the event.
  • Observe and participate in security drills and meetings to gain a deeper understanding of event safety operations.
  • Assist in monitoring security operations during the event, providing on-site support and ensuring protocols are being followed.

Who You Are

 

  • Strong interest in event security, safety management, and law enforcement in the context of large-scale events.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn about event security and emergency planning.
