The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the National Tennis Center - Queens, NY. 

Hourly rate: $20.00

The NTC Tennis Programming  Intern will play a key role in managing the administrative aspects of our Summer Tennis Camps, with a focus on scheduling and coordination for our seasonal staff, known as NTC Junior Pros. This position will ensure the smooth operation of the camps, providing an exceptional experience for both camp participants and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for promoting the sport of tennis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating the NTC Junior Pros (seasonal camp staff), ensuring coverage for all camp sessions.
  • Support the camp's day-to-day operations by managing logistics, including staff assignments, participant registration, and materials preparation.
  • Communicate with NTC Junior Pros to provide updates, address inquiries, and ensure alignment with camp objectives and expectations.
  • Help facilitate an engaging and supportive environment for camp participants, ensuring they have an enjoyable and educational experience.
  • Assist with tracking attendance, participant feedback, and staff performance to support continuous improvement in camp operations.
  • Provide administrative support for camp-related tasks, including organizing camp documentation, creating schedules, and managing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the camp leadership team to resolve any operational issues that may arise during the camp season.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with staff, participants, and parents.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and camp experiences.
  • A passion for tennis and a desire to contribute to promoting the sport through youth development programs.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to the dynamic environment of a busy summer camp.
