We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the Times Square Office

Hourly rate: $20.00

The Foundation Intern will support the development team in executing impactful fundraising events, conducting donor and prospect research, and contributing to Salesforce strategy and data management. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor relations while helping to drive the success of key fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistical support for fundraising events, including galas, special events, and campaigns.
  • Assist with donor and prospect research to identify new giving opportunities and potential partners.
  • Help manage donor data within Salesforce, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop strategies for engaging current and potential donors.
  • Support the planning and coordination of fundraising activities, including event logistics, communications, and outreach efforts.
  • Conduct research on corporate and individual donors giving trends and opportunities.
  • Assist with preparing materials for donor engagement and stewardship, including event invitations, donor communications, and reports.
  • Help track fundraising progress and analyze data to provide insights on donor trends and campaign effectiveness.

Who You Are

  •  Strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, and donor engagement.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen ability to build relationships.
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous event planning experience, particularly in a nonprofit setting, is preferred but not required.
