The Role

Content Editor is responsible for producing and editing written content across all USTA digital

platforms, as well as for a variety of collateral/communications/marketing materials within the

USTA.  This position is an integral part of the USTA’s efforts to implement and maintain its digital platforms.  In this role, he/she/they produces written content for the main USTA.com website, will update and maintain pages as assigned (beats) and also provide technical support in terms of building and revising pages.  In addition to USTA.com, this position is responsible for making updates and providing support to other websites, including US Open.org and USOpenSeries.com.

  • Production of content for all areas of the USTA’s digital initiatives, with tasks including editingstories/headlines and publishing stories and photos.
  • Conceive story ideas and write same as assigned.
  • Manage technical aspects of building and maintaining pages for USTA.com and other affiliated websites as assigned.
  • Assist in strategic planning, implementation and day-to-day coordination of all content for the USTA’s various digital initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and execution of USTA presence across a variety of social platforms.
  • Oversee content and production for specific “beats” as assigned.
  • Contribute to the annual planning and budgeting processes.

 

Who You Are

  • 2-3 years of experience in interactive editorial environment. Tennis website preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, editorial judgment, creativity; knowledge of AP Style a plus.
  • Strong web-specific technical skills, especially relating to the building and maintaining of pages and CMS work.
  • Strong working knowledge of web technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills, well-organized.
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Knowledge of navigating content management systems
  • Creative thinker
  • This role is designated as “hybrid” which allows for time in the office as well as remote. This is not a fully remote position, aligned with the current USTA hybrid/flex policy.

The expected range for the annual base salary for this position $55,000 – 60,000. Any additional pay or benefits a person may qualify for, are not included in this range. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
