The Role

Contribute to all aspects of the Marketing and Communications department with a focus on content development, social media, and marketing assistance for the USTA Middle States (USTA MS) provider network. Develop educational opportunities and assets for tennis providers, while building and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders. In addition, contribute to the department’s overall efforts through the execution of digital and print materials, event planning, general marketing and communications, etc. Reports to the Manager of Marketing & Communications.

  • Develop and produce digital and print marketing assets for the USTA MS provider network and businesses/organizations associated with regional tennis.

  • Facilitate marketing and public relations training and development opportunities for USTA MS providers, including through the use of webinars, presentations and best practices. Provide access to industry insights, best practices, and marketing trends to keep teams informed and innovative.

  • Review, improve and implement provider-focused communications channels to promote consistent messaging and efficient collaboration between USTA MS and tennis providers. 

  • Assist providers in developing strategies to better connect with and understand their target audiences, improving customer leads, interactions and retention. 

  • Contribute to internal efforts of content development and social media planning strategies and execution. Work with Marketing Manager/Director to ensure social media channels, websites, and other public-facing media outlets are frequently updated and following best practices. 

  • Contribute to newsletters, direct mail pieces and other publications with writing and graphic design.

  • Serve as a point-of-contact for providers involved with USTA MS’ digital marketing growth initiatives, taking place in 2025 and beyond. Proactively assist providers with digital marketing efforts and goals.

  • Organize an annual Provider Appreciation campaign, incorporating in-person, virtual, and PR efforts.

  • Develop written, photograph, and video content for (USTA MS) channels. Work with marketing and communications team to ensure content plans match organizational goals.

  • Keep current with USTA digital updates and online software. Make notes of key national updates on a weekly basis and ensure information is shared with staff.

  • Help research and approach leads for local sponsorships. Assist with building pitch presentations. Assist with advertising sales for all sectional publications, website, and e-newsletter.

  • Contribute to the distribution and organization of marketing items.

  • Knowledge of USTA programs and tennis industry preferred. 

  • Proficient with various computer systems and ability to learn new programs and software.

  • Graphic design proficiency and a strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with computer technology programs. Photography/video editing skills.

  • Meet travel demands, work nights and weekends as required.

  • College degree preferred.
